December 19, 2008, the Fourth Convention of  “Sichuan Innovation Talent Awards” was held grandly in Jinniu Hotel in Chengdu, and Chairman Ren Xuping and other 9 people got the awards.
    Provincial leaders took part in the convention include Li Chongxi, vice general party secretary; Ke Zunping, member of the party standing committee and  head of the personnel department; Wang Yukun, vice director of the standing committee of the provincial peoples congress; Chen Wenhua, vice governor of Sichuan province; and Xie Hong, vice chairman of Sichuan political consultative Conference.
    At the convention, Li Chongxi, vice party general secretary, expressed congratulations to the ten awarded people and warm regards to excellent persons working in different fields in Sichun, on behalf of the Party Committee and Government. His speech stressed the importance to build up the highland of talents in the West following the general direction of speedy, scientific and healthy development, which is guiding all the work of Sichuan province.
