June 8, 2010, the
Chengdu Forum of Science and Technology Innovation---Run an
enterprise of social value and Gain a best brand for the
enterprise---was successfully held in Chengdu Hall of Science and
Technology.
The Forum was co-sponsored
by Chengdu Association of Science and Technology and the Women
Entrepreneurs Chamber of Sichuan Industry and Commerce Federation,
presented jointly by YBC Chengdu Office, Badicao Social Work Service
Center and Chengdu TAFE College, with special support from the
Cultural and Education Section of British Embassy in Beijing.
Distinguished guests at Forum were Qian Weidong, Vice Chairman of
Sichuan Industry and Commerce Federation; and Chen Guang, Dean of
Public Management College of Southwest Communication University and
concurrently Vice Chairman of Chengdu Science and Technology
Association.
Participants at the Forum
were Wang Yandan, senior official from British Consulate in
Chongqing; Director Chen Jian, Deputy Director Ran Weiwen and Deputy
Division Chief Zhou Xiaoli from the Sichuan Industry and Commerce
Federation; representatives of YBC Tutors of Chengdu Communist Youth
League; of commerce chambers of Hubei and Sichuan; of the Head of
Sichuan Enterprise Culture Promoting Society; of Condiment Chamber
of Sichuan Industry and Commerce Federation; of the Science and
Technology Park of Sichuan University; of the Southwest Association
of Hairdressing and Beauty; of the Sichuan Women Entrepreneurs
Association; of Chengdu Women Entrepreneurs Association; of Chengdu
Hotels Association; of the Incubation Park of University Graduates;
of Sichuan civil public institutions; and of medias, as well as
other entrepreneurs and people who showed interests.
The Forum was presided
over by Zhang Shuping, executive chair of Sichuan Xuping Rabbit
Industry and concurrently executive chair of the Women Entrepreneurs
Chamber of Sichuan Industry and Commerce Federation.
Chen Guang, Dean of Public
Management College of Southwest Communication University and
concurrently Vice Chairman of Chengdu Science and Technology
Association made a welcome speech at the Forum, hoping to introduce
to universities the concept of solving social problems with
commercial mode. Qian Weidong, Vice Chairman of Sichuan Industry
and Commerce Federation, made an important speech, expecting that
the forum would not only a normal meeting but also push forward the
social spirit of enterprises.
Mr. Steve, lecture
consultant of China social innovation curriculum designed by the
Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy in Beijing,
presented, as the main lecturer, on the concept of social
enterprises, transfer to social enterprises from NGO and commercial
enterprises, how to solve social problems during the Chinese
enterprise development itself and how to make the charitable course
more effective and sustainable. And Mr. Mike Harland showed a case
study of British successful social enterprises in combination of the
operation of his own social enterprise. The two lectures were warmly
welcomed by the participants and the interaction pushed the Forum
from one height to another.
Director Chen Jian, on
behalf of the sponsors, and Ren Jie, representing Badicao Social
Work Service Center, presented a Letter of Appreciation to the
lecturers. Zhang Shuping, the emcee, to show their thanks, presented
“MeiOuli” panda toys made of rabbit fur produced by the Chinese
social enterprise representative---Sichuan Xuping Rabbit Industry.
The Forum came to a successful end in an atmosphere of pleasant
study and active interaction. |
